Wandering around Istanbul was one of the many highlights of the trip. One the bonuses was that I was in Istanbul during the Ramadan festival, which was just a wonderful reminder of just how much people of the world are more alike than dissimilar.
After the natural beauty of the Cappadocia region, the nature of Istanbul — man-made over thousands of years and multiple ruling cultures, was perfect in my eyes. I quickly decided this was one of the few cities in the world I could possibly live in for a good bit of time.
And the shopping. O my, the shopping. Not that I am much of a shopper, but for those that are, you have options ‘o plenty. Here’s but one example that caught my photographer’s eye.

I’d like the pair on the second shelf, fourth from the left in a size 10… pretty please?
it shall be done!
Beautiful…don’t think I’ve ever seen boots so incredibly ornate. I wouldn’t mind a pair although I’d have to wear straight black with them cuz they’re so colorful….:)
it was a funny little store. Has been a long time, so I don’t recall 100%, but I am pretty sure that all they sold were these painted boots.
*drool* You had me at boots….
if it was a boot and wine store… I’d have never left
I wouldn’t be seen dead in them!! These Turks come up with weird and wonderful ideas some time!!
Well, I certainly wouldn’t be caught dead in them. But then again, I am a straight man.
Ha ha, remember looking at these boots when we were last in Istanbul! Beauties.
As for living in Istanbul – something we would love to do if only for a few months. Each time we go to the
city, we love it more and more…and just don’t want to leave.

I do love me some Istanbul. It is in the short list of places I could live for a few months.

I wish to see that carry on!
Those are most fabulous boots. Best worn, I feel, with a large moustache and a lady-pleasing attitude to match.

Those really are fantastic boots! I want a pair. If Johnny Weir (my favorite figure skater) wore cowboy boots, I imagine they would look like this
