I haven’t tried much macro photography, but probably need to give it more of a try. This one isn’t great — the focus isn’t perfect — but I figured it is good enough to display. Hope you like.

Dragonflies are so pretty! We found one that looked like this caught in the bug guard of our rental car. We set it free and I think it survived even though it had a broken tail.

Awesomely pretty wings
I’ve not had much experience with macro work – do you have a special lens you use? I do find working close up that focus can be an issue – just the slightest movement after you’ve focused and the whole thing goes to pot, particularly with wide open apertures.

Oh my… The photo is great, the subject..umm… Just yesterday I went to a local market in Shanghai where they sell insects, plenty of crickets and cockroaches, one more minute and I would have fainted. People were so careful to choose the right cricket to buy!

I considered getting a macro lens after working with one in my wedding gigs. They are super hard to focus certain spots sometimes! Love the colors!
