Photo of the Day: Drinks on the Mediterranean 4

Now that I have managed to make it over to Damascus, Syria (and yes, everything is fine here, at least where I am), I am starting to do up some of my posts on my two weeks in Lebanon.

This shot was from a place where I stopped at the end of a day of touring ruins in south Lebanon, in the city of Tyre — spelled locally as Sour and pronounced Soor — don’t ask, I don’t understand either.  The ruins here were great and I’ll have a couple photo journals coming soon on them.

At the tip of the piece of town that juts out furthest into the Mediterranean lies the Christian part of town. Very tiny, but it would be worth an overnight stay here, just to wander around the narrow alleys as the sun sets and eat and drink at this spot — right at the end of land.

See the table on the left?  It was a really good beer.

About Michael Hodson

I’m an attorney that took off on my birthday in December of 2008 to circumnavigate the globe without ever getting on an airplane. After 16 months, 6 continents and 44 countries, I made it all the way back home. Right now, I am back on the road writing about it all.
