Insta-recap: June and July on Instagram 13

I want to start a new series on the blog — I’ve been getting more into using Instagram lately (are you following me yet?), and I post a lot more of my own photos there than I do anywhere else online right now.

So let’s do an Insta-recap of some of my best Instagram photos.

Normally, these will be from the last month. But, since this is the very first edition, let’s look back at the summer so far so you can see what I’ve been up to. From Europe to Asia and back, it’s been a busy couple of months.

June

You can’t really beat an after-work drink with a view like this, can you? (Taken in Croatia.)

Even gathering storm clouds look good over one of my favorite cities in Europe: Ljubljana, Slovenia.

In Ljubljana, cafe after cafe line the canal-like river. I chose this spot for a stop – and to watch a World Cup game. Not a bad view.

Here’s a shot of one of the lions guarding the entrance to the Szechenyi Chain Bridge that spans the Danube in Budapest.

To round out June, here’s a peek into my brief time in Rome. I never tire of visiting this city.

July

From Europe, I changed continents and spent some time in Sri Lanka helping to scope out Cinnamon Hotels, who are helping put together the Professional Travel Blogger Association‘s industry conference in November. I love this shot of the moat in Sigiria.

I wasn’t in Asia long, though. After Sri Lanka, I went to southern France. This town (St. Emilion) is beautiful. Quite tourisy, but for good reason. And it’s good to be a regular tourist sometimes.

Lastly, I’ll end with a shot of railroad tracks. Sometimes I think trains and train stations just lend themselves to black and white shots. And kind of make you think about the journey to come, whether you’re getting on a train or not.

That’s it for this insta-recap. Tune in next month for another.

Which photo from this collection is your favorite?

About Michael Hodson

I’m an attorney that took off on my birthday in December of 2008 to circumnavigate the globe without ever getting on an airplane. After 16 months, 6 continents and 44 countries, I made it all the way back home. Right now, I am back on the road writing about it all.
