Asking for a Little Help from You, My Loyal Readers 13

Sharing is caring!

I could use a little help — and will hopefully not only make it easy for you to do so, but also give you a nice incentive to do so.

free money falling from the sky

ok, maybe not this much money

Its time for me to do another giveaway. I did one when I started my newsletter. It is time for another one…

I am giving away an Amazon Kindle.

Well, I am giving away a $100 Amazon gift certificate, so you can buy the $99 Kindle Touch or… anything else you want. Buy a Kindle or buy some great travel books.

Do you see this big box right under here… you just need to log in to that thing and then there are a number of things you can do to enter this contest. So…. get to it, so I can give away some money.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

So, this giveaway is going to be organized a little better than my last one, where I did it myself. Basically, you can enter to win by doing a variety of things.

These are all doable by that big RaffleCopter application you just scrolled over — do all these in there, in order to enter:

  • You can like my Facebook Fan Page
  • You can follow me on Twitter
  • You can like this post on Facebook
  • You can tweet about this post
  • You can subscribe to my newsletter and
  • You can answer a quick survey for me — which I am really hoping a lot of people do.

Here’s why — the reader survey is just 10 questions, mostly multiple choice, so it shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes of your time. It will help give me feedback on how to improve this website and also my newsletter. I want to make both more responsible to my reader’s wants and needs.

Secondly, I ask you a couple questions about your travel habits. This will again help me better sort out what sort of content I need to provide here, but it will also assist me in my pitches to various companies for sponsorships. If I can get a few more sponsorships, I will be able to hopefully do a little more fun and adventurous travel going forward… and write all about it.

But if you click through the RaffleCopter application up in the middle of this post, you will also be entered to win the giveaway for the $100 Amazon certificate.

So, many thanks to you. Your reading this site and my newsletter makes all of my work totally worthwhile. If you get a chance, I’d love you to enter this contest, so I can give just a little bit back… at least to one of you.

So, get out there and get traveling, whether you spend your certificate on a guidebook or just wing it on your own. What will you do if you win the $100?

About Michael Hodson

I’m an attorney that took off on my birthday in December of 2008 to circumnavigate the globe without ever getting on an airplane. After 16 months, 6 continents and 44 countries, I made it all the way back home. Right now, I am back on the road writing about it all.

uh, sorry Michael, guess I’m a dolt. So where’s the link to this “survey”?

Just added in a big link to it, but you can enter via the RaffleCopter function in the middle of the post. That way, you are entered into the contest to win the $100 Amazon certificate.

Thanks for large link Michael. I already have a Kindle so… I tried the big link and…

It brought me to the default SurveyMonkey page. (I think the javascript is broken.) ;(

Nonetheless, I persevered (read: waded through your page source code and found the “BMCYM5L” code for your particular survey and added it to the root url:

      https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BMCYM5L

And FINALLY managed to get to the survey.

In short, happy to give you feedback on your site, but you might want to double check that survey link.

OK, whew. FINALLY think I got that link corrected. For some reason when you scrolled over the old link it would show going to that same spot you have mentioned here, but then when you clicked it, it didn’t go there. Think it is all set now.

Michael, wondering about your experience with Rafflecopter. I’m trying to figure out a similar way to give away a new Ipad 3 but wanted to sell tickets at $5 a piece and donate the money to Kiva, followed by redonating it to a second charity.

Do you have any idea if they can handle taking money through credit cards?

I am not sure that Rafflecopter supports any pay option. There are also problems with paid raffles under US law, if that matters to you. I have found it easiest to just do giveaways where no one has to pay anything to enter, so I haven’t explored any other options.

Wow. How kind are you. You’re giving a promo for us to win the $100 to buy either the $90 Kindle or buy any thing we want that would suit the price. May God bless you more.

    Woohoo, done!

Off topic: What plugin do you use to get those cool comment fields for entering one’s facebook & twitter? thx!

A question. I don’t like facebook apps, so I clicked the survey link directly and completely the survey. Just wondering, does it make me eligible for the giveaway? (o,o)
